Y'all, it finally happened after 23 years - I got validation from my immigrant parents! 😭 I know, I'm being a tad dramatic, but it's hard not to crave those proud parent moments when they gave up so much for me. These last few months have been a real journey...October was rough because I felt like humanity was lost in the world 🥺 But November was a dream! I took a month-long sabbatical back to the motherland (Hyderabad, India). It was the best month of 2023, hands down 🙌.
Outside of all the traveling, Diwali festivities, refining my palette (aka eating the most authentic Indian food), figuring out how to actually speak Telugu, and reconnecting with the cousins and fam (I feel like I was seen all over again), I spent it doing a thought audit. I’ve always been a rebel, but this trip reminded me that it’s part of my internal and literal external fabric (when everyone else sticks to 50 shades of beige 🎨). Once I got back to the states, I shedded a version of myself. It’s has brought me immense joy and PIVOTAL perspectives for 2024.
I'm sorry for leaving y'all hanging 😢 without the usual VC/startup hot takes, news, and resources. 📰 I'm working on reviving the Female Founder Resource Hub for 2024. In the meantime, follow Diona Richards and Patricia Diaz for weekly funding drops.

Girl don’t get me wrong I am a spiritual being and love manifesting, visualization exercises, journaling, and acting like my higher self, but most of the glow up & level up content is BS. It’s just leading us into overconsumption 💅. Besties, if you do anything this week, spend time doing a whole lotta nothing! If you’re big on goal setting, vision boarding, and scripting your year, PLEASE don’t spend more then 1-2 hours doing all of it. Don’t overcomplicate this stuff. Keep it as simple as possible for YOU. Can't wait to share more of this journey with y'all in 2023! 🥂

VC INTERVIEW TIP
❌ DON’T TAKE A VC INTERNSHIP (unless you’re a undergrad/MBA student):
This is an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think its worth doing after working full-time or doing contract/freelance work with multiple clients. Unfortunately, these opportunities end up excluding underserved, underrepresented, and minority applicants because of the financial burden. Trust me - it’s worth waiting for a full-time job (and yes I can finally say that 😉).
